Two walks with some sightseeing between them... First walk takes about 2 hours and is right in the heart of Madeira's Laurel Forest where one can observe many endemic species of plants, trees and birds. This green path accompanied by a Levada (Madeira irrigation canal) takes you to a view point that will amaze you with its beautiful deep valley where a river cuts it right in the middle with a small portion of blue. The return is by the same path but the landscape seems different and there is always something that you haven't seen before.
A visit to the third highest peak is a must and so the tour includes a ride up there for sightseeing and some rest as well.
Second walk is inside the Ecological Park of Funchal, a protected area with most of the indigenous species of Madeira wildlife. It is a short walk of about half an hour each way that leads you to a peak where, if weather permits, one can admire a fantastic view over Funchal.
