1st & 2nd Record of Gadwall for Madeira

1st & 2nd Record of Gadwall for Madeira

The story goes like this. On the morning October 26 during a full day
trip I visited Lugar de Baixo pond. At 9am a juvenile Gadwall was
seen. Later in the day, 6pm I returned to the pond, now with Catarina
to check if the bird was there. And it was gone.

Catarina suggested that we checked Ribeira Brava river mouth for this
bird. The bird wasn’t there, instead a drake Gadwall was seen. So in
the same day we had two different records of the same species.
