Happy 13th Birthday to the Marine Biology Station of Funchal!

Wind Birds works in partnership with the Marine Biology Station of Funchal, part of the science department of Funchal Council, gathering specimens normally found in pieces of garbage floating at sea for several times and picked up during our bird, dolphin & whale watching trips or on our pelagic trips. We already collected some interesting fish which are not common to coastal areas but more typical of deep offshore waters.

As a celebration of the 13th year of the Marine Biology Station, Catarina & Hugo were invited to an informal dinner where each guest should take a dish or dessert. We made a chocolate cake and decorated it as a fish! It was a great success!

We just wish that the Marine Station of Funchal continue its research and good work for a lot more years and that our partnership keeps going successfully!
