Birdwatching in Madeira can sometimes be very unpredictable. The endemic birds in Madeira are confined to small area and habitats. Though when it comes to vagrants we never know what we are going to get. When hot winds blow from Africa, we usually get some accidental vagrants. Now, if this winds coincide with bird migration we reached optimum birdwatching conditions. This??happened??again this weekend and Madeira has been inundated it thousands of migratory birds.Keep in mind, that Madeira is 600 km off Africa’s coast and ideal conditions can only happen twice a year. Today, Tuesday we there still more birds arriving to the Islands as hot winds continue.
