New Ford Transit mini-bus!

Early March 2019 we got a new Ford Transit van to run our birdwatching land tours! It is an 9 seats (8 passengers + driver) mini-bus with air conditioning and airbags for the front seats.

It’s Ford EcoBlue 2.0 litre engine complies with Euro Stage 6.2 emissions legislation, so it is optimized to be powerful enough for Madeira’s steep roads while having lower fuel consumption and emissions. More, to reduce more than 90% of the emissions of solid particulates from the vehicle’s exhaust it has a catalytic system which uses urea/water-based fluid to convert nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions into nitrogen and water. So we’re doing our best to become greener! Hopefully the next mini-bus will be electric!

The front cabin has an 8” touchscreen infotainment system with gps and by the 2nd row of seats it has 2 USB inputs so passengers can recharge their phones. We opted for 2 side doors, one on each side, which makes getting in and out of the vehicle quicker, specially when we stop suddenly for an interesting species!
